The Mighty Pen!

Oindrila Chakraborthy, XA, won the 'Student of the Year' Award for 2012, during 'The Times Newsmakers Meet' in Aug 2011. Following a mock press conference was a round of quiz and an on the spot writing competition. She was chosen as the 'Star Correspondent' based on her performance in the competition, contributions to the students' edition of TOI and her literary prowess. Congratulations, Oindrila!!



The GE Foundation and the Institute of International Education (IIE) have designated AKSHARA GOPALAN (Batch of 2011-12) as a recipient of a 2012 GE STAR Award in the 4-Year School Category for the essay she submitted. In recognition of her outstanding achievement she receives a financial award of US$3,500 and National Public School, Rajajinagar receives US$500. Congratulations, Akshara, for bringing laurels to yourself and the institution.

  • Sumedh Bharadwaj, 10D bagged the Rolling Trophy for quiz.

  • Dhruti Prasad, 8A received a gift hamper and Certificate of Appreciation for her performance in English debate.

  • Lajo Lakshman, 8B, received a gift hamper and Ananya Arun, 8A received a Certificate of Appreciation for their performances in Hindi debate.

» National Level Brain Bee - 1st Runner-up

What do you get when you put together books on Brain facts & Neuroscience, a course in brain anatomy and differential diagnosis of brain disorders? A brainy winner!! That's what Malhar Jere of Class XI achieved when he emerged National Runner-up at the Annual Brain Bee contest organized at NIMHANS in April 2012.


A question and answer round on brain and sensory biology, an identification round on neurohistology, an intensive challenge on cranioanatomy and a round on doctor-patient simulation... and our very own student Abha Jain successfully emerged the 3rd Runner-Up at the International Brain Bee 2011. This annual international competition was held on July 16, at Florence, Italy along with the International Congress on Neuroscience. A student of Grade XII, National Public School, Rajajinagar, Abha - the Indian National Brain Bee, prepared for the international contest for more than two months, educating herself with neuroscience literature and received guidance from her teachers and neuroscience experts. Abha received a trophy, medal and certificate. To top it all, she has bagged free membership and future admission for education with the Society for Neurosciences, University of Maryland, US.

»Regional Brain Bee

National Public School, Rajajinagar maintains its tradition for producing Brain Bee champions for the 4th consecutive year.The Society for neurosciences in collaboration with the International Brain bee and the Indian National Brain Bee Association held the regional level competition at Narayana Hrudayalaya on 24th of December 2011. This competition involving highly technical aspects of neuoroscience, pitted the brains in Biology from many city schools. Malhar Jere of XI A emerged the champion and Maithreyi Govind Iyengar of XI A was the 1st runner up.
