Computer education is an integral part of the curriculum at National Public
School, Bangalore. The state-of the art computer laboratory with 100 systems
is very popular with the students. Students are trained to learn the latest
software applications and programming languages. The school offers computer

The Science Lab at National Public School, Bangalore, provides an atmosphere

experiencing and learning science . The Science lab also provides an open
environment for students to experiment and do research work. Under the

Our
Science lab is highly sophisticated and fully equipped to meet the curriculum
requirements for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. We have separate workstations
for Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
There are numerous preserved biological specimens to observe and study,

The students from middle school too use the science lab

The vast collection of over 15,000 volumes is mainly comprised of textbooks,
reference books, fiction titles, periodicals and audiovisual material
like CDs and VCDs. Separate areas house the collection of syllabus-based
textbooks (according to classes), the fiction titles (primary and secondary)
as also the periodicals and the audio visual materials
Textbook collection:
Syllabus-based textbooks from different authors help the students to self-study
the subject in greater detail and also help the teachers to teach the
subjects from different angles and give extra information on any given
topic.
Fiction collection:
A large number of fiction titles by leading authors such as Roald Dahl,
Enid Blyton are available for the primary section and authors such as
Robin Cook, Arthur Clarke, Ruskin Bond, etc are available for the Senior
sections.
Reference books:
A collection of nearly 2000 titles inclusive of Encyclopedias, dictionaries,
atlases, thesaurus etc. are available to the students and the teachers
for their day to day teaching and assignment work.
Periodicals:
The library subscribes to nearly 30 periodicals inclusive of 2 national
daily newspapers. Children's magazines as well as subject-based journals
are used well by students and teachers alike.

Reference titles assisting the teachers in their teaching as well as in
preparing their study material and worksheets are available in the school
library. Latest foreign publications in different subjects help the teachers
to update their knowledge.

Visual Materials:
Many CDs comprising of nursery rhymes, story telling aids and other titles
for primary classes are available for the teachers. The faculty members
also use subject based CDs in science as well as mathematics as an aid
to their classroom teaching. Globes, geometry boxes, large sized books
and flap books are also other teaching aids stocked in the library.
Reading Programme for Grades 1 to 6
This special reading programme encourages the children to read the recommended
library books. A book review of a few lines is prepared by the student
after reading every book which is put up on the bulletin board.
A spacious indoor auditorium with a seating capacity of 700 people is
a feather in the cap of our institution.
A well-equipped Math Lab at NPS, Rajajinagar, provides students with the
opportunity to have fun with numbers.
It creates a challenging atmosphere for students to put their mathematical
abilities to test and enhances their analytical, reasoning and lateral
thinking through various games and activities. We instill and develop
the observation skills among students to derive formulae.
In the Math Lab, games are organized, models made, quizzes conducted,
projects exhibited, all learning process done through practical means.
For classes 1 to 8, experiments are done based on the concepts dealt in
the syllabus. Various kits are designed and they are used to derive the
formulae. For classes 9 and 10, students work on 20 different math experiments,
which are given by NCERT syllabus. They are also marked on the Math Lab
activities.
