Grade 7 Movie Time - Discovering Nilgiris Through Cinematic Lens
Grade 7 students had the opportunity to watch Nilgiris: A Shared Wilderness, the first feature-length wildlife documentary focused on India’s first UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The film offered a captivating journey through the Nilgiris, a land of sacred peaks, secret creatures, and ancient landscapes, shrouded in mist and steeped in folklore. Known as one of Asia’s most studied regions, the Nilgiris is a unique blend of wildlife and human communities coexisting harmoniously. Presented by Felis Films and Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies, the documentary provided students with an immersive experience into one of India’s most ecologically rich and culturally significant areas. This experience helped students understand the importance of preserving natural habitats and the value of conservation efforts. It also sparked curiosity about how human activities and wildlife can coexist in harmony.
