International Mangrove Conservation Day


On the morning of July 26th, 2024, the students of Grade 12 at National Public School, Rajajinagar took center stage with an educative assembly dedicated to the International Day for Conservation of Mangroves. The students conveyed the critical message of mangrove preservation through a variety of engaging activities.

The assembly commenced with a captivating skit, where the forest came alive with animal characters played by students depicting the interconnected web of life within the mangrove ecosystems. Through the playful interactions of students portraying animals, the skit not only entertained but also educated the audience on the symbiotic relationships and ecosystem services provided by mangrove forests.

Following the skit, a speech was delivered highlighted the pressing need for mangrove conservation in the face of environmental challenges. Emphasizing the role of mangroves in coastal protection, carbon sequestration, and as crucial habitats for numerous species.

Music filled the air as the assembly continued with a song composed by the students themselves. With lyrics on the beauty and importance of mangroves, accompanied by melodious tunes.

To test the audience's knowledge and reinforce key concepts, a quiz was conducted, engaging participants in a friendly competition of environmental facts and figures related to mangrove ecosystems.
