Sri Purandara Dasa and Sri Thyagaraja Aaradhana Sangeethothsava 2024-2025

An Evening of Enchantment - Grade 11 Dazzles with Wizardry

National Public School recently organized the 8th edition of "Aaradhana Sangeethothsava," a music concert dedicated to honouring the contributions of Sri Purandara Dasa and Sri Thyagaraja, two key figures in Carnatic music. The event was designed to celebrate their musical and spiritual legacies, with performances that highlighted their impact on the genre.

Sri Purandara Dasa, often referred to as the father of Carnatic music, and Saint Thyagaraja, known for his devotional compositions dedicated to Lord Ram, were the central focus of the concert. Their contributions continue to shape the traditions of Indian classical music, especially within the Carnatic tradition.

The concert featured a range of musical instruments, including veena, violins, flute, harmonium, tabla and mridangam, with students performing Kritis and Ragas as part of the tribute. The atmosphere in the school auditorium was filled with the sounds of devotion, as the students’ performances conveyed the essence of these composers' music.

The event serves not only as a musical tribute but also as a way to keep the rich cultural heritage of Carnatic music alive for future generations.
