The Classic Association – Poetry Competition

Divit Bhargava, Grade 6 has won the Runners up position in the International Poetry competition organised by The Classic Association, United Kingdom. His entry titled ‘I Salute my Mother’ was judged by the former Poet Laureate of New Zealand Selina Tusitala Marsh. Divit was awarded a certificate and £50 as a token of appreciation for his creative work.

In the garden of my existence, a blossom rare,
A portrait of strength, beyond compare.
With roots embedded in love's sacred soil,
I salute my mother, a paragon of toil.

Her hands, a tapestry of tales untold,
Weaving resilience in threads of gold.
Through life's tempests, and storms that rage,
She stood as my fortress, through every age.

I salute my mother, a melody divine,
In the grand opera of life, her love does shine.
Her laughter, a serenade to joy's sweet song, |
A lullaby that's echoed my whole life long.

From the cradle of her arms, dreams took flight,
Nurtured by love, bathed in gentle light.
Her gaze, a lantern in the darkest night,
Guiding me through shadows with pure delight.

In the alchemy of her love, I find my worth,
A treasure trove discovered since my birth.
Her sacrifices, whispers in the winds of time,
A symphony of selflessness, both pure and prime.
I salute my mother, an artist so divine,
Painting my world with hues that forever shine.
Her touch, a healer in moments of despair,
A balm that soothes, an answer to every prayer.

Through valleys of sorrow and peaks of elation,
She taught me love's unwavering dedication.
Her words, an anthem of wisdom profound,
In every echo, a virtue is crowned.

In her embrace, storms of doubt dissipate,
As she nurtures dreams with love innate.
Her resilience, a beacon in life's stormy sea,
I salute my mother, a captain guiding me.

Through seasons of change and winds that blow,
Her love, a steadfast river, continues to flow.
In her eyes, reflections of dreams untold,
A testament to a love, timeless and bold.

I salute my mother, an embodiment of grace,
With every heartbeat, her love I embrace.
Her legacy, a fortress, standing tall, |
In her footsteps, I find strength to stand tall.

For in the echo of her laughter, and the warmth of her gaze,
I find the courage to navigate life's maze.
I salute my mother, a beacon so bright,
In the tapestry of my life, she's the guiding light.
