Partition Horrors Remembrance Day

“An economic aspiration has started the British Empire. A new economic reality ended it in August 1947."

Partition horrors remembrance day also known as 'Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas' was observed on 14th August 2023. This day was announced by the Prime Minister in 2021 to remember all those who lost their lives due to the partition of the nation and were uprooted from their origins. As citizens of democratic India, we tend to neglect the sacrifices of our ancestors towards a free India. Today the youth has become more understanding of this day.

The students of NPS RNR commemorated the day by making a pictographic representation to display the horrors of the partition. The day was started by the choir giving a patriotic tribute, singing ‘Ae Watan’ during the assembly. Students were made aware of this consequential and impactful day.

This day was to recognise and remember an important part of our history and to reinforce in us the spirit of unity and collective belonging.
